Our Firm

Armistice Capital is a global, long/short, value-oriented and event-driven hedge fund focused primarily on the health care and consumer sectors.  We invest predominantly in equities and can be opportunistic across the capital structure.  We seek to maximize the opportunity set of investment candidates allowing for the selection of unique, concentrated bets to generate uncorrelated returns.  We maintain significant position and portfolio level hedges in an effort to mitigate basis and market risks.  We view our strategy as the marriage of value and event and aim to produce compelling risk-adjusted returns in all markets.

Steven Boyd, Chief Investment Officer, founded Armistice Capital in 2012. Steven was the first analyst at Senator Investment Group in 2008, joining the firm with its founders from York Capital. 

Armistice was the winner of 2017 US Hedge Fund Performance Awards by HFM for long/short equity, long/short equity long-term performance (5 years) under $1bn, and single manager long-term performance under $1bn.*

Steven Boyd, CIO

Steven Boyd had been a Senior Research Analyst at Senator Investment Group since pre-launch (February 2008). Prior to joining Senator, Mr. Boyd was an Associate at York Capital, focusing primarily on investments in consumer and health care equities. Prior to York, Mr. Boyd was an Analyst at SAB Capital Management, a value-oriented long/short equity hedge fund. Mr. Boyd began his career as an Analyst at McKinsey & Company. Mr. Boyd received a B.S. in Economics (with a concentration in Finance) as well as a B.A. in Political Science from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

George Schultz, Analyst

George Schultz joined Armistice in December 2018. Prior to joining Armistice, Mr. Schultz was an analyst at Nitorum Capital, a long/short equity hedge fund. Previously, Mr. Schultz was an analyst at Kenmare Management and Angelo Gordon & Company. Mr. Schultz began his career as an Equity Research Associate at Fidelity Management & Research Company. Mr. Schultz received a B.A. in Economics from Bowdoin College and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Schultz is a CFA charterholder.

Charles Shi, Analyst

Charles Shi joined Armistice in April 2018. Prior to Armistice, Mr. Shi was an Analyst at OrbiMed Advisors where he focused on therapeutics and specialized in catalyst driven investing including clinical trials and FDA decisions. Previously, Mr. Shi was a Equity Research Associate at UBS focused on US large and mid-cap biotech. Mr. Shi received a Ph.D in Immunology from Cornell University, and a B.S. in Biotechnology from Sun Yat-sen University.

Vivian Wang, Analyst

Vivian Wang joined Armistice in February 2017. Prior to Armistice, Ms. Wang was a Senior Investment Associate at Bridgewater Associates. Previously, Ms. Wang was an Investment Analyst at Teng Yue Partners, a long/short equity hedge fund, where she was primarily responsible for covering companies in the technology, media and telecom sector. Ms. Wang held the role as an Investment Banking Analyst at Credit Suisse before joining Teng Yue Partners. Ms. Wang received a B. A. in Economics from Princeton University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Sergio Smiriglio, Head of Trading

Sergio Smiriglio joined Armistice in January of 2018. Prior to joining Armistice, Mr. Smiriglio was a Director of Trading at Tourbillon Capital Partners where he was responsible for trade execution and securities financing globally. He was also tasked with the build out of Tourbillon’s execution and portfolio management framework. Previously, Mr. Smiriglio was with Dialectic Capital Management where he held the position of Co-Head of Risk and Trading, he was primarily responsible for managing risk and execution globallyfor the firm. Mr. Smiriglio began his career at Goldman Sachs where he worked in the prime brokerage equity long/short coverage group. Mr. Smiriglio graduated from Steven Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Engineering in Bio-medical Engineering.

Renato Baba, Investment Engineer

Renato Baba joined Armistice in September 2018. Prior to Armistice, Mr. Baba was a Director of Investments at Brasif Group, one of the largest family-owned investment firms in Brazil, performing financial modeling and data-driven PE-business optimizations. Previously, Mr. Baba held Investment Analyst and Associate Portfolio Management roles at hedge funds in Brazil, having begun his career as an Analyst at Value Partners Management Consulting. Mr. Baba received a BEng in Mechatronics Engineering from University of Sao Paulo, and an MS in Management from Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is a CFA Charterholder.


Brooke Kilgallen, Head of Business Development

Brooke Kilgallen joined Armistice in March 2017. Prior to Armistice, Mrs. Kilgallen was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs where she most recently spent her time covering hedge funds, asset managers, family offices, and other institutions across all asset classes. Previously, Mrs. Kilgallen held a role covering hedge funds for U.S. and International equity sales. Mrs. Kilgallen graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Economics. She is a CFA Charterholder. 

Anthony Cordone, Chief Financial Officer

Anthony Cordone was most recently CFO of MM Capital, a $350 million volatility arbitrage fund. From 2004-2009, he was COO/CFO/CCO of Litmus Capital Management, a value-oriented hedge fund based in New York. At both MM and Litmus, Mr. Cordone was the first CFO. And at Litmus, he built the necessary infrastructure to support launch and SEC registration. Previously, Mr. Cordone was Controller of ESL Investments in Greenwich, CT. At ESL, Mr. Cordone was responsible for the day-to-day operations, controls, and financial records of the $8 billion investment partnership. He began his career at BDO Seidman and ING Alternative Asset Management. Mr. Cordone graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.  

Daniel Radden, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer

Daniel Radden joined Armistice in April 2019.  Prior to Armistice, Mr. Radden was the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of White Elm Capital, LLC, a long/short equity hedge fund.  Prior to joining White Elm, Mr. Radden served as Vice President, Associate Counsel at the Permal Group.  Previously, he was an Associate in the Financial Services Group at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.  Mr. Radden was also an Analyst at JPMorgan Chase.  Mr. Radden received a B.S. from Cornell University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.  Mr. Radden is admitted to practice in New York.
